Smith Hartvigsen was founded in 2002 when its members J. Craig Smith, David B. Hartvigsen, and D. Scott Crook left a large Salt Lake City law firm to pursue their vision of a practice that would not only be responsive to its clients but also be progressive enough to excel in today's quickly evolving legal environment. In January, 2004, respected bond attorney Eric Todd Johnson became a member of the firm, adding vital skills to Smith Hartvigsen's municipal law practice.
